IBPS Clerk 2024 Eligibility Criteria

The candidate is required to meet the following three criteria to be eligible for the IBPS Clerk Examination 2024-25.

IBPS Clerk Age Limit

The candidate’s age must be in the range of 20-28 years. The date of birth of a candidate must not be earlier than July 2, 1996, and later than July 1, 2004.

IBPS Clerk Educational Qualification

A candidate selected by the authority must possess the minimum qualification for enrollment which is graduation from any university recognized by the state or an equivalent qualification as recognized by the Central Government. The candidate must hold a document as proof of the qualification examination passed by him.

The candidate must have an Issued mark sheet / Degree Certificate which states that he/ she is a graduate on the date of registration and shall state the percentage of marks obtained at Graduation during online registration.

Understanding of Computer Application: It is a must that they be programmed in operating personal computers and Microsoft applications which means that the applicants should have a Certificate/Diploma/Degree in computer operations/Language. The person must have studied Computer/ Information Technology at the High School level/ College level/ Institute level.

Ability to read, write, and speak the official language of that particular state/ UT (candidates should know how to read/ write and speak the Official Language of the State/UT) against the vacancies is desirable to apply for the position.

Nationality / Citizenship

No person shall be eligible to sit for an examination unless that person is either –

  • A Citizen of India or
  • A subject of Nepal or
  • A subject of Bhutan or
  • A Tibetan Refugee who had migrated to India intending to settle in after arrival on or before 1st January 1962 or
  • A person of Indian Origin who has flourished settled in different countries like Pakistan, Burma, and Sir Lanka, countries from Eastern Africa like Kenya, Uganda Republic of Tanzania (earlier Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia and Malawi, Zaire Ethiopia, and Vietnam intending to make that country a home – India.

IBPS Clerk 2024 Selection Process

The recruitment process for IBPS Clerk CRP XIV occurs in two phases, below is a detailed description of them:

  1. Preliminary Examination
  2. Mains Examination

Phase-1: IBPS Clerk Preliminary Examination

IBPS Clerk CRP XIV preliminary exam is an online test that assesses a candidate on aptitude, intelligence, and language – English. There are a total of three sections and the candidate has to pass the minimum performance level in each of the respective sections before moving on to the main exam round.

There is a time of 20 minutes for each section of the question paper for the candidates to finish the paper. The paper has a total score of 100 the minimum score that has to be achieved. Which is set by the IBPS, and will probably change every single year depending on the difficulty of the test.

Every candidate must clear all three tests by securing the minimum cut-off marks to be determined by IBPS. In each category, a sufficient number of candidates as per the requirements will be shortlisted for the Online Main Examination as decided by IBPS.

Phase-2: IBPS Clerk Mains Examination

Earlier, the separate ‘Computer Aptitude’ and ‘Reasoning Ability Sections’ were not the perfect examples of competence demonstration. Penalty for Wrong Answers: There is a penalty for wrong answers in both the preliminary and main examinations. For example, a quarter mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer to an objective-type question. There will be no penalty for the question left blank.
